DRIVING
Hands-down, the best way to get to Hudson! If you're coming up from NYC/Westchester, it's a straight-shot up the Taconic (2 hours from Harlem, NYC/80 minutes from Ossining, NY). It's a beautiful, scenic drive, and in November, you'll be able to catch all of New York State's finest foliage. But beware of the speed traps! The more north you go, the more stingy the cops are with that "no big deal" 10mph over the speed limit! Slow and steady is the name of the game on the Taconic!
There will probably be a bunch of car pools to and from the city, so reach out and phone a friend!
TRAINING
It's very easy to catch a train from Penn Station to Hudson on the Empire Service via Amtrak (total train time is 2 hours). You can also take an Amtrak from Croton-Harmon, NY (total train time is 1 hour 18 minutes). The Hudson train station drops you off RIGHT by Basilica Hudson. It's such an easy walk to our venue that it takes Brian 2 minutes and 32 seconds at "Crowley pace" (284 steps) and Jill 3 minutes and 47 seconds (429 steps) IN HEELS (...yes, we counted). And if you're staying in central Hudson for the weekend, everything is relatively close and nothing is more than a 15 minute walk away.
FLYING
Albany Airport is the closest airport to Hudson, so if you’re flying, we recommend you land in Albany. From Albany International, it is about a 45 minute cab/shuttle ride to Hudson.
Or, you can always fly into JFK and/or LGA and look into carpooling or taking the train up from NYC.
